Reported Newcastle United target William Saliba is said to be assessing his option, as he considers another exit from Arsenal.
According to football.london, the Frenchman has been in discussions with those around him about what the next best step is for him.
Saliba signed for Arsenal in 2019 for £27 million (Sky Sports), but is yet to play for the Gunners.
He’s been back on loan at Saint-Etienne. And he spent last term with Nice.
Apparently, Saliba could actually be sold this summer.
That would certainly anger plenty of Gunners fans. Many have been wanting to see him given a chance at the Emirates Stadium.
He could also be loaned out again, but with an obligation to buy.
Supposedly, Newcastle are one of the teams keen on Saliba.
Hope for Newcastle?
It seems more and more unlikely Saliba will be staying at Arsenal.
That would be a surprise given his positive loan spell with Nice.
Mikel Arteta seemingly wants to sign Ben White. That would be a big blow for Saliba’s prospects.
That he could be loaned out with an obligation to buy might suit Newcastle.
Funds are said to be tight right now. So that could be a help.
That said, there is obviously an element of risk given Saliba is yet to play in the Premier League.
But he could just as easily be a fine addition for the Magpies.
