Newcastle United are reportedly going to make a fresh move to sign Youri Tielemans this summer.
That is according to the Northern Echo, who state that Newcastle are going to revive their interest in Tielemans after failing to sign him from Leicester in January.
The Belgian midfielder was heavily linked with a move to St James’ Park, as Eddie Howe went in search of a replacement for Jonjo Shelvey.
However, a move for the Foxes ace failed to come to fruition. The Athletic reported in January that Newcastle distanced themselves from Tielemans due to his excessive wage demands.
But with the summer transfer window looming, the Northern Echo believe that the 25-year-old will be of interest to the Magpies once again.

Newcastle could get Youri Tielemans on a free
Newcastle are planning to revive their interest in Tielemans this summer, when things could be very different for the Belgium international.
As it stands, he will become a free agent in the coming months. His Leicester contract expires at the end of the season, and there appear to be no signs of an extension.
That means that Newcastle will be able to pick him up for nothing – if they can propose a contract that appeals to the former Monaco man. That might be difficult, as his wage demands will likely be even higher once he becomes a free agent, given the fact teams will be saving money by not paying a transfer fee.
Tielemans is a player who Newcastle have been linked with for a long time. The club clearly believe he would be a good fit at St James’ Park, and he would certainly boost our midfield options ahead of next season.
We need an influx in creativity from midfield, especially if we qualify for Europe, and Tielemans can provide that. He is classy in the middle of the park, and could form a lethal partnership with Bruno Guimaraes.
Like most transfers, it will likely come down to money and whether or not Newcastle are willing to match his wage demands.
