Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Benfica goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos.
O Jogo report the Magpies want to open negotiations with the Portuguese giants over the 27-year-old.

The Greece international – who was born in Stuttgart – has been with Benfica since the summer of 2018, joining from Panathinaikos.
So far he has racked up 142 appearances for the club.
This term he’s featured 17 times across all competitions, and kept 11 clean sheets.
He made headlines in midweek for a fine display against Barcelona in the Champions League, with O Jogo reporting he was one of the best players on the pitch during the 0-0 draw.
Newcastle are supposedly interested in Vlachodimos, but O Jogo add that Benfica are not looking to sell at this time.
The player is under contract until 2024, and is a regular in their starting XI.

They are not after changing their first-choice goalkeeper in the middle of the season.
Benfica are in a three-way title challenge at the moment, so it’s understandable they want stability.
Newcastle don’t need a goalkeeper, as report claims interest in signing Vlachodimos
Newcastle have been really struggling defensively, but the club don’t need to be looking at bringing in a new goalkeeper.
Martin Dubravka is a dependable Premier League stopper and should be the number one for the rest of the campaign. Fans certainly really rate him.
Admittedly, Karl Darlow has struggled in recent times.

But it seems unlikely he’d be sold mid-season, in case Dubravka picked up an injury.
Even if Newcastle were ready to move him on, it’s unlikely Vlachodimos would want to come in as a number two anyway.
