Newcastle United are reportedly showing interest in Seko Fofana.
After reports linked the club to Marcelo Brozovic and Stefan de Vrij, Foot Mercato have now claimed the Magpies are keeping tabs on the 26-year-old, as are Italian clubs AC Milan and Atalanta.

His club Lens are supposedly in a decent financial position according to the report. They don’t need to entertain interest.
But it’s explained that a large offer could tempt them to sell.
Ivory Coast international Fofana has been with Lens since last year, joining from Udinese, where he spent four years.
He has really caught the eye this season, and he was actually named the Ligue 1 September Player of the Month.

Fofana’s contributions have helped Lens up to second in the table, although they are 10 points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Foot Mercato, Fofana – once on the books at Manchester City – is now one of the best players in Ligue 1.
He is the spearhead of the team and one of their most influential players, Foot Mercato say.
The ace has previously been compared to ex-Citizens midfield dynamo Yaya Toure.
A player like Seko Fofana would not go amiss for Newcastle
Newcastle bringing in someone like Seko Fofana would be a smart move.
Currently, the holding midfield options are not particularly great.
Isaac Hayden is a very committed player and well-liked by Toon fans, but he does have his limitations.

And Jonjo Shelvey has often been accused of lacking intensity in his game.
Fofana is having a fantastic season at the moment and it is little wonder Lens don’t want to lose him.
