Newcastle United are being linked with a transfer for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.
According to Calciomercato, the Croatia international is a target for the Magpies in January.

The player’s contract expires next summer, and Inter are therefore under a bit of pressure to sell in the next window.
The Serie A club are supposedly struggling to tie him down, amid interest from other clubs.
So worried are Inter about losing him, they have already supposedly identified a potential replacement in Bologna’s Jerdy Schouten.

Calciomercato say Newcastle are looking to swoop for Brozovic, but face competition from Antonio Conte and Tottenham Hotspur, and also Barcelona, now managed by Xavi.

Brozovic has been with Inter since 2016, joining from Dinamo Zagreb.
He has racked up over 250 appearances for the club, and helped the club to a league title last season.
The 28-year-old has also been a runner-up in the Europa League, and the 2018 World Cup with Croatia.
Brozovic transfer would be brilliant for Newcastle
Brozovic would potentially make for a very good transfer by Newcastle.
The star is definitely one of Inter’s more underrated players.
He is the kind of holding midfield who likes to get on the ball and dictate the tempo of games.

So far in Serie A this season, he has a highly impressive pass completion rate of 92% according to WhoScored.
Taking a look at his previous seasons for Inter, he has never once dipped below 80% accuracy in any competition.
He really is a superb distributor, and the Magpies need someone to start dominating in there.
With the more attack-minded Eddie Howe now at the helm, he could be a great addition.
