Eddie Howe has arrived at the training ground for his first full day as Newcastle United manager.
His appointment was confirmed on Monday afternoon, with Howe agreeing a two-and-a-half year deal with the Magpies.
It ends a lengthy managerial search that has seen us linked with a plethora of names. Here’s hoping that Amanda Staveley and co have backed the right horse.

We won’t see Howe’s Newcastle in action until November 20th against Brentford, giving the new manager plenty of time to work with his players.
And the 43-year-old certainly isn’t wasting any of the time available to him.
The new Newcastle manager is already at work, arriving at the training ground this morning at 6.45am alongside his backroom staff. The early bird catches the worm as they say…
While ‘man arrives early for work’ is hardly earthshattering news, it is when it comes to Newcastle. This is the kind of little detail that excites a fanbase that has been starved of any kind of hope in recent years.

The fact that Howe has turned up in the early hours is the kind of attitude Toon fans will love. As the old saying goes: “We don’t demand a team that wins, we demand a club that tries.”
It’s an early indicator of the determination Howe has to be a success. And he has a huge job on his hands.
Newcastle are 19th in the Premier League and without a win after 11 games. Howe has a mighty task guiding Newcastle to safety, so it’s a good job he was in early this morning to get to work.
