Reported Newcastle United target Pape Matar Sarr has suggested he is keen to remain with current club Metz.
The midfielder is supposedly wanted by the Magpies and a host of other clubs.

Sarr started the 2020/21 season slowly, but got into his stride and eventually became a key player for the club on their way to a respectable 10th-placed finish.
That’s despite him still only being 18 years old.
The Senegalese starlet’s vibrant displays have alerted a number of teams from across Europe, including Newcastle’s fellow Premier League sides Everton and Aston Villa.
Newcastle fans hoping to see the club make a summer for Sarr may be disappointed.
The teenager has spoken about his immediate future, and looks keen to stay put for now.
He told L’Equipe: “At FC Metz, our first objective is to keep the team in Ligue 1.
“But winning trophies with them is also part of my ambitions for next season.
“I want to have a better season than in the 2020/21 [campaign] and if possible, score more goals.”
L’Equipe add that Metz boss Frederic Antonetti is keen to keep the youngster.
Newcastle need to look elsewhere
It doesn’t seem like Sarr is ready to embark on a new adventure just yet.

Newcastle should therefore not waste any time and get onto other potential options.
There is still lots of time remaining in the transfer window.
But one decent signing early doors to set the tone would be most welcome.
