Newcastle United want to sign Youri Tielemans in January, and Leicester City are reportedly open to selling the 25-year-old.
That’s according to 90min, who claim that the Belgian midfielder could be available for a cut price fee when the transfer window opens next year.
Tielemans was linked with a late move to Newcastle during the summer, but a deadline day deal failed to come to fruition.
Now it appears that he will be a target once again in January, and the Foxes could be willing to do business.
Leicester willing to sell Tielemans
With Tielemans’ contract set to expire in the summer of 2023, Leicester only have one window to get some money for him. That is why they are reportedly willing to sell him in January, as he has no intentions of extending his current deal.

90min add that he could be available for less than £20million. That’s less than what he was valued at in the summer, with Brendan Rodgers’ side wanting at least £25million. And it’s a lot less than what they paid for him in 2019 when he cost £35million.
They probably expected to make a huge profit on him, but that definitely will not be happening.
Instead, Leicester are set to make a big loss on Tielemans, which will be a real blow to them considering how talented he is. He has been called a ‘special‘ player by former teammate Wes Morgan, and that is exactly what he is.
That is why Newcastle are keen to sign him. He is the kind of midfielder that Eddie Howe needs, and he is available at a price that won’t break the bank.
To sign a player of Tielemans’ ability for less than £20million will be a real coup. That is why it is vital Newcastle win the race and bring him to St James’ Park in January.
There will surely be a lot of competition, but the Magpies are a club on the up. Tielemans could be the latest piece in the black and white jigsaw that seems destined for the top.
