Newcastle United youngster Joe White could reportedly be loaned out during the January transfer window.
That is according to the Shields Gazette, who believe that the 20-year-old is ‘in the frame’ for a temporary move away next month.
White has spent the first half of the season playing for the Under-21s, with his most senior experience coming in the EFL Trophy. The midfielder played in all three of Newcastle’s games, losing to League One Barnsley and Lincoln City, then falling to League Two Doncaster on penalties.
The youngster has already spoke about his desire to go out on loan, and it looks like he could get his wish.
The Shields Gazette add that White was watched by Hartlepool United on Monday night, when the Toon youngsters took on Sheffield United’s Under-21s. Elliott Dickman’s side lost 2-1 in the Premier League Cup clash.

Interestingly, White went to Hartlepool last season on loan. He joined Pool in January, and made 15 appearances in League Two.
He will be keen for a similar experience, and a temporary move is exactly what he needs.
Essential that Joe White goes out on loan next month
White has impressed for Newcastle’s Under-21s this season. He has scored three goals in Premier League 2, including one against rivals Sunderland back in October.
However, he needs to get more senior experience. That is the only way he will become ready to test himself in the Premier League.
He will have seen what Elliot Anderson did last season. The youngster’s form for Bristol Rovers earned him a chance in pre-season, and it has resulted in Anderson playing a part in Newcastle’s fantastic start to the season.
White will want to do the same, as he looks to make the leap from Toon youngster to senior Magpie.
With Dan Ashworth as Sporting Director, there will be a clear development plan in place for White. The club will know where they want him to go in order for him to improve.
While Newcastle have plenty of cash right now, it isn’t all going to be about flashy new signings. They will want to promote from within and have academy graduates playing in the first-team.
Anderson is proving that is possible under Howe, and White will want to do the same. That is why he needs a loan move when the transfer window opens next month.
