Newcastle United’s summer transfer activity appears to be gathering speed.
With Sandro Tonali through the door and some of Eddie Howe’s squad back for pre-season, Newcastle look to be trying to conduct more business in the coming days and weeks.
Indeed, Fabrizio Romano claims they are interested in a move for Monaco defender Axel Disasi as Howe looks to strengthen his defence before the Champions League campaign next season.

In more attacking areas, Leicester winger Harvey Barnes was strongly linked with a move to St James’ Park over the weekend.
Now, Romano has provided an update on that potential deal.
Harvey Barnes accepts Newcastle as his next move with more talks planned
Taking to Twitter, Romano claimed Barnes has accepted Newcastle as his next destination.
Talks are now underway as the club try and get a deal done with Leicester, albeit Romano also adds that a move for the forward depends on outgoings at the club.
When the news initially broke, the Guardian suggested Allan Saint-Maximin could be sold to make room for Barnes amid reported interest from Saudi Arabia.

Newcastle appear to have won the race to sign Barnes
Described as “unbelievable” by Jurgen Klopp, it’s easy to see why the 25-year-old is attracting interest from around the Premier League.
Even during a relegation season at Leicester, Barnes scored 13 goals in 32 starts, outscoring everyone but Callum Wilson at Newcastle.
As a result, the likes of Aston Villa, West Ham and Tottenham have all been linked.
So, Newcastle being the one to land him looks something of a coup.
Barnes might not be a glitzy name coming in from European football but is a reliable source of goals in the Premier League, more so than Saint-Maximin.
Even during Miguel Almiron’s best season for the club, Barnes still scored more goals.
To bring that kind of reliability into the club would be a positive step.
