Newcastle are one of the clubs reportedly looking at a deal for Antonio Rudiger when his Chelsea contract runs out.
Chelsea’s current plight, with Roman Abramovich’s assets frozen, only increases the chances of him leaving because the Blues cannot extend any of their players’ contracts.
And a report by the Daily Mail has shared the kind of financial package Rudiger is looking for when the end of the season rolls around.

They claim that he was happy to accept a deal worth around £200,000 every week at Stamford Bridge before the sanctions came in.
That said, the report also claims Rudiger was not happy with the bonus structure which may be something for Newcastle to consider.
Also, perhaps because he is due to move as a free agent, Rudiger would want some of the savings on the transfer fee to go into his pay packet.

The report says that Manchester United are also in the hunt for Rudiger and it seems likely they will be able to offer European football of some description too.
But Rudiger is an elite central defender in his prime and taking advantage of Chelsea’s plight to get him would be a statement of intent from Newcastle.
Those wage demands are likely outside the current wage structure but Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes won’t have come for a pittance and there must be an acceptance within the squad that the salary scale is going to change at the club.
