It has been reported that Rayan Ait-Nouri of Wolves is a potential target for Newcastle United.
Where has this claim come from?
The report is by Jeunes Footeux, who claim that Crystal Palace are also interested in the defender.
Newcastle still do not have a director of football, and the appointment of one would help give their January window more direction.

Would he be a good fit?
Ait-Nouri has performed impressively since coming into the Wolves side this season, with David Edwards proclaiming that he is ‘going to be a star’ in future.
That said, Jamal Lewis has impressed under Howe since the former Bournemouth manager took over in the dugout.
Ait-Nouri is a strong runner, and would help Newcastle drive forward down that left hand side.
He is playing at left wing-back at Molineux and would likely be needed to play in a back four for Newcastle, where he would be asked to do more defending.

Is it realistic?
It was recently reported that Paris Saint-Germain want to sign Ait-Nouri as well, for a fee in the region of £30 million.
That would provide a stumbling block for Newcastle because they can offer the same riches as well as Champions League football.
Wolves also just signed him in the summer and have him tied down until 2026.
Although, they do have Jonny and Marcal at the club and could well be tempted to sell a big hitter for big money to fund improvement elsewhere in the squad, if Newcastle backed up this reported interest with a serious offer.
