Newcastle reportedly back in for playmaker Fekir

Newcastle United have been credited with an interest in Nabil Fekir, according to reports in Spain.

Estadio Deportivo claim that Real Betis are worried that the Magpies will sign the playmaker in January.

Newcastle were first linked with the Frenchman in April 2020 by French outlet Foot Mercato.

That was when the takeover was mooted for the very first time and now Newcastle could reignite their interest.

Fekir was part of the squad which won the 2018 World Cup, which underlines his quality.

And Fekir apparently dreams of a move to the Premier League, having been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal before.

There is also interest from Russia and Qatar according to the report, but Newcastle would fancy their chance of beating that off with their new project and investment.

Fekir is a playmaker of real quality, but before Newcastle decide on transfer targets, they need to decide on a new manager.

Then a new sporting director, to align all areas of the club which will then inform the type of transfer targets required.
