Reports from Nigeria claim that Nantes winger Moses Simon is now a key target for Newcastle United in the summer.
Own Goal claim that Newcastle are currently in talks with the Ligue 1 outfit over buying the Nigerian international, who can play on either flank.
They say that Simon would cost around £20 million and £100,000-a-week in wages, which should not be an issue for Newcastle’s owners.

He has six league assists this season, but none since November and his early season form was very hot but has since subsided slightly.
Simon was part of the Nigeria squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, as they made the Round of 16 before elimination at the hands of Tunisia.
This interest is not the first time Newcastle have been linked with the forward.

During Rafa Benitez’s reign, the Magpies were linked with Simon, back when he was at Gent and valued around £10 million.
Newcastle scouted him at that time but of course Mike Ashley was still at the top of the club and that meant targets were regularly missed.
Liverpool have been credited with interest too, as well as Leeds, and it would be a boost if they could beat those two clubs to the wideman in the summer, not least because it would likely mean survival has been secured.
Newcastle are presumably making transfer plans for two scenarios; survival and relegation.
