Newcastle United have once again turned their attention towards the Bundesliga as they look for a new attacking midfield threat with Eintracht Frankfurt’s Jesper Lindstrom back in their sights.
A couple of months ago Newcastle were said to be interested in Danish international Jesper Lindstrom, and now having seen moves for James Maddison and Dominik Szoboszlai fail, they may be stepping up their interest.
The 23-year-old forward has courted interest from several Premier League clubs in the past but now Bild in Germany (h/t The Boot Room) claim Newcastle and AC Milan are the two main interested parties.
Lindstrom has CL experience and has won the Europa League
Bild claim that it would take somewhere between £25-35million to lure him away from Frankfurt, which is much lower than the £40-60million Newcastle would have had to pay for Maddison or Szoboszlai.
Lindstrom already has Champions League experience which is what Newcastle need. He even scored in the competition for Frankfurt last season. On top of that he can boast a Europa League winner’s medal from the 2021/22 season. He managed nine goals and four assists in 30 appearances in all competitions last season.

Labeled as ‘outstanding‘ by Bundesliga.com, his style of play has seen him likened to both Jack Grealish and Thomas Muller, which isn’t a bad hybrid to have in any squad.
Newcastle fans online seem keen on the idea of Lindstrom
How far up Newcastle’s priority list Jesper Lindstrom is remains to be seen. This is only really the second time he’s been mentioned alongside Newcastle and both times the reports have come from abroad – Denmark and Germany.

Lindstrom definitely looks like a quality player and one who could grow at Newcastle to become excellent in the future, but whether he’s a realistic target only time will tell.
No doubt Lindstrom is just one of several options being looked at by Newcastle right now, but the buzz online suggests Newcastle fans would be quite happy with this one.
