Newcastle United are confident in keeping hold of Bruno Guimaraes this summer as contract talks continue in the background.

Now that the season has ended transfer rumours will be front and centre in the news and speculation of comings and goings around Newcastle will be relentless.

One name recently linked with a move away from Tyneside is Bruno Guimaraes. The Brazilian has been touted as a ‘perfect‘ signing for Liverpool, he’s been linked to Real Madrid and Barcelona, but Newcastle 90mins says aren’t worried.

Bruno has made it very clear that he loves Newcastle

The report in 90mins has poured cold water on the exit rumours and even goes as far to say that sources inside Newcastle are confident that they will have Bruno tied up with a ‘huge’ new contract before the 2023/24 season starts.

Bruno has made no secret about his love of the club, the city and the people, referring to Newcastle as home many times in the past. He even calls his son, Matteo, a Brazilian Geordie. Something would have to go seriously wrong for Bruno to turn his back on Newcastle so early in his North East journey.

Star players being linked with an exit is inevitable

The £40million signing from Lyon signed off his season by opening up about the struggles he’s faced this season while looking forward to the challenge that next season will bring.

It’s inevitable that our star player will be linked with a move away, that’s how the transfer rumours work, but I’ve personally never been more confident of retaining a player in my 30-odd years supporting this team.
