Newcastle have been linked with a swoop for Valencia midfielder Kang-in Lee.
Journalist Alan Nixon, who works for the Sun and specialises in transfer reports, tweeted the news.
Wolves have been linked with the South Korean all summer and Southampton are apparently keen too.
He is now available on a free transfer, according to Nixon. That would suit Newcastle’s transfer policy.
Steve Bruce could do with another midfielder, but it looks set to be a freebie or a loan.
How good is Lee?
The Tuttosport Golden Boy shortlist was chopped to 60 earlier this week and Lee made the cut.
He is a technically gifted playmaker, with an eye for a pass.
He is unsettled at Valencia and combined with their financial situation, that’s why he’s available this summer.
This could be a decent little coup for Newcastle if it comes off, but there is clearly competition for his signature.
