Newcastle United have officially rejected both loan and permanent bids for one of their key players who is wanted by a big club in January.
Bayern Munich have proven to be very keen to solve their right-back problems by bringing in Kieran Trippier on loan, but Newcastle have been adamant that he won’t be leaving this month.
Journalist Craig Hope has now shared on X that Newcastle have rejected a permanent bid as well as a loan bid which was rumoured in the last couple of days.
Newcastle not tempted to sell Trippier yet
Although they are struggling financially to bring in new players, it looks like Newcastle are not absolutely desperate to sell one of their key players after rejecting a bid for Trippier.
It’s not clear how much the bid from Bayern was but it can’t have been a significant amount as Newcastle aren’t even entertaining the idea of letting the 33-year-old go right now.
Should the German giants return with another increased bid then the Magpies may be tempted, especially if it is way above their valuation of the England international who has been so pivotal to Eddie Howe’s side.
Newcastle already have some good backup options for the right-back with Tino Livramento waiting in the wings to take over from Trippier, so it may make sense to cash in while they still can.
On X, Hope said: “Understand Newcastle have rejected a loan approach AND permanent approach from Bayern Munich for Kieran Trippier over the weekend.
“Stance remains that he will not be sold this window.”

Bayern look intent on getting key Newcastle man
Bayern are very much struggling with the right-back position having played a midfielder there in their latest game against Werder Bremen which ended in a 1-0 defeat.
PSG’s Nordi Mukiele is also on their radar and it’s believed that he would be their number one target, but it doesn’t look like he will be available so they have identified Trippier as a backup option.
Their CEO has already confirmed that they won’t be making a ridiculous offer for the former Tottenham man, though that doesn’t mean they won’t return with a second permanent offer.
As time runs out in the transfer window, Newcastle may be less and less inclined to accept any kind of offer given how little time there may be to bring in a new addition, so the sooner the better for both clubs.
