Newcastle United could still yet lose one of their key players if a big enough offer is submitted this month despite the latest reports.
Bayern Munich have been very keen to add Kieran Trippier to their ranks after a move for PSG’s Nordi Mukiele broke down, but it was believed that Newcastle don’t want to sell.
Journalist Christian Falk is now claiming that Newcastle ‘want to sell’ the 33-year-old if a big enough offer can be submitted from the Bundesliga giants.
Trippier could still leave Newcastle in January
The latest reports suggested that Newcastle are doing everything in their power to keep hold of the experienced right-back, but reports from Germany suggest that may not be the case.
Trippier has been an unbelievable servant for the club since arriving in 2021 for £12m, but the club must make a big decision as to whether they want to cash in on him now or if they value his ability and leadership more than bringing in a new player.
Realistically every player has a price, especially when you’re heavily restricted by Profit and Sustainability Rules, so if Newcastle were to receive a high offer – likely anything above £20m – from Bayern then it would be consdiered.
Bayern had initially wanted a loan move for the former Spurs man, but Newcastle will be keen to ensure that it is either permanent or that there is an obligation to buy in the deal.
On social media, Falk said: “True Contrary to reports in other media, the negotiations for Kieran Trippier (33) are continuing. According to our information, Newcastle want to sell the player if Bayern makes a good offer.”

Newcastle can cope well without Trippier
If there is one area on the pitch where Newcastle could lose their starting man and not massively drop in quality you’d probably go straight for the right-back.
Trippier is currently one of the best in the world in his position, at least he definitely was before his latest run of games, but Newcastle have a brilliant backup in Tino Livramento.
The 21-year-old has proved this season that he can handle some of the best wingers in the world and is also great technically and going forwards, much like Trippier.
It would be a huge loss to the dressing room if Trippier did depart, but in terms of the quality in Newcastle’s starting 11 there really wouldn’t be that much of a drop off.
