Newcastle United are watching one Juventus youngster with a keen eye after his impressive performances on loan this season.

The Magpies first showed interest in Matias Soule back in December when the news emerged that Juventus were looking to sell the 21-year-old to raise funds.

Now, a new report from TV Play claims that Newcastle had sent scouts to watch the young man in person as he scored in Frosinone’s narrow defeat to AC Milan on Saturday.

It’s believed that both Premier League clubs had representatives in the stands to watch the 20-year-old net his 10th league goal of the season as they continue their pursuit.

Soule has been so ‘impressive‘ at Frosinone who have so far exceeded expectations after winning promotion from Serie B last season and now find themselves in 14th in the top Italian division.

That’s largely thanks to the efforts of the Juventus attacker who now has 12 goal contributions, meaning he’s been involved in almost 40% of the goals the team has scored this season.

He primarily plays on the right, a position that Newcastle are looking to sign in the summer, though he does have the ability to play in a more central role as well, so his versatility could come in handy for whoever signs him.

Juventus want to move Soule on

As it was previously reported, Juventus’ financial situation means that they need to find some funds from somewhere, and it is their young exciting talents who they would be willing to part ways with.

A report from Calcio Mercato suggested that the winger could be available for £21m, a fee that Newcastle would surely find affordable in the summer despite their limited January funds.

But there are a number of positions they will wanting to improve upon in the next six months, it just depends if they think Soule has what it takes to succeed at the very top after just one promising season in Italy.

Either way it feels like the young man will earn a big move very soon as he doesn’t look to have much of a future at Juventus.
