Newcastle United started the season with four right-backs, three of which are linked with leaving the club during the January transfer window.
Javi Manquillo looks set to depart, with the Spaniard due to sign for Celta Vigo. Interestingly, they are managed by former Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez.
There has also been talk about Kieran Trippier being sold by the Magpies, with Bayern Munich interested in signing the 33-year-old. It would be a huge shock to see him leave given how important he is, but it comes at a time when the club are very wary of profit and sustainability rules. And one way to ease those concerns is to sell players…
Now a report from iNews claims that Newcastle are looking to sell another right-back as well as Manquillo, but it is not Trippier.

Newcastle willing to sell Emil Krafth
According to iNews, Newcastle are willing to listen to offers for Emil Krafth.
The 29-year-old signed for the club back in 2019 when Steve Bruce was manager, but has shown real improvement since Eddie Howe took charge.
The Sweden international was very important in Howe’s first season when Trippier got injured, and he has played brilliantly when called upon this season following his own injury.
His comeback has been remarkable after being out of action for 14 months, having been stretched off during a Carabao Cup game against Tranmere Rovers back in August 2022. The defender’s most recent Premier League appearance came in the 3-0 win over Fulham, with Howe describing him as ‘outstanding’.
But Krafth is someone who Newcastle could look to sell, which is understandable. While he always performs well when called upon, he is rarely required. Since returning to fitness, Krafth has made seven appearances in all competitions, starting twice.
iNews also state that another player Newcastle would be willing to sell is Matt Ritchie. The midfielder has made 10 appearances in all competitions this season at the age of 34.
