Both of Newcastle United’s strikers have struggled with injury this season, which is why there have been rumours about a third arriving.
Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak have both been impressive in front of goal, scoring seven and nine goals respectively. However, they will both believe their tallies should be much higher.
However, they have been forced to miss plenty of minutes due to injury, with Isak currently struggling with a reoccurrence of the groin issue that had kept him out before the international break.
While Wilson and Isak are both brilliant goalscorers, they are no use when they are injured. And with both of them picking up knocks, there has been a renewed need for another attacker to join the club in January.
One player who has been linked is Serhou Guirassy, who has been banging in the goals for Stuttgart. He has already got 18 goals in all competitions this season, which is actually more than Isak and Wilson have got combined.
The 27-year-old’s efforts in Germany have led to interest from the Premier League, with his £15million release clause making him even more appealing.
And a new report from 90min suggests that even Guirassy is pushing for a move away from the Bundesliga club.

Newcastle asked about signing Serhou Guirassy
According to 90min, Newcastle are one of multiple Premier League clubs who have been contacted about possibly signing Guirassy. The other clubs who have reportedly been asked about a deal are Arsenal, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolves.
He has also been targeted by Manchester United, who desperately need a forward with Rasmus Hojlund continuing to struggle.
With Newcastle being offered the chance to sign Guirassy along with various other Premier League clubs, it actually decreases the likelihood of him moving to St James’ Park.
Given his efforts in front of goal and his affordable release clause, there is going to be so many teams trying to win his signature. It will be quite the race, but one that Newcastle will surely avoid.
While Guirassy is outperforming the likes of Wilson and Isak, the fact he is 27-years-old probably rules out a move to Tyneside. He certainly is not old, but any forward who does arrive at St James’ Park will surely be much younger than that.
