Newcastle United have already signed one player from Chelsea this summer, now they have discussed bringing in another.
The Magpies completed the permanent signing of Lewis Hall on July 1st, with the 19-year-old arriving from Chelsea for £28million after his loan spell.
It was a loan spell that ended very positively, after Hall endured a slow start to his Newcastle United career. Now he is on the right path, having improved massively after a year of working with Eddie Howe.
Hall will hope to be a mainstay in the Newcastle defence for years to come, alongside Tino Livramento – another player who plied his trade at Chelsea.
Newcastle United linked with Trevoh Chalobah
Now Newcastle United are looking at another Chelsea defender, as they aim to sign another centre-back ahead of the 2024/25 season.

According to Give Me Sport, Newcastle United have discussed possibly signing Trevoh Chalobah, with his Chelsea career looking set to come to an end.
The 25-year-old has not been included in the Chelsea squad that is heading to the USA for pre-season, with a move away from Stamford Bridge now on the cards.
After playing so much at the end of last season, Fabrizio Romano has stated on YouTube that Chalobah is ‘really disappointed and sad about the situation’. He was an important player at a time when Mauricio Pochettino’s side were finally clicking into gear.
Now Chelsea are set to sell Chalobah, with Newcastle taking a look. However, Give Me Sport add that the ‘impressive‘ defender would like to sign for a club that can offer European football.
Newcastle have their eye on someone else
That is not something that Newcastle can offer, with the Magpies failing to qualify for Europe. There was hope that a seventh place finish would deliver Europa Conference League football, but that dream disappeared when Manchester United won the FA Cup.
Therefore, Newcastle will not be able to offer Chalobah what he wants. However, it feels unlikely that the Magpies will even try and tempt Chalobah to Tyneside.
That is because Toon officials have their eye on someone else, with Newcastle stepping up their interest in AC Milan’s Malick Thiaw.
Newcastle are in contact with Thiaw’s agent, and it is claimed that he could be available for around £34million.
That would make him more costly than Chalobah, who Chelsea are looking to get £25million for. But 22-year-old Thiaw is three years younger than Chalobah, while he has a much higher ceiling.
He is the centre-back target that Newcastle United are pursuing, despite taking a glance in the direction of Chalobah amid his uncertainty.
