Newcastle are eyeing a January transfer swoop for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, according to the Daily Mail.
They report that the French club are open to selling the former Fulham man if they receive a suitable offer when the window opens.
The report also says that Newcastle have been drawing up a list of young strikers to bolster their firepower but 25-year-old Dembele is also a target.

Dembele has four goals and one assist from ten Ligue 1 appearances this season, as well as playing in the Europa League as Lyon secured safe passage from the group stage.
His campaign has been disrupted by thigh injury then a fractured right fibula and he is only just working his way back to full fitness.
That might be something for Newcastle to consider as they look for someone who can come in and make an instant impact and perhaps ease the burden on Callum Wilson, who has a record of picking up injuries.

Reaction
Some Newcastle fans may feel their club needs a new central defender and midfielder – or two – rather than a backup striker.
But goals can fire a team out of relegation trouble and if Wilson gets an injury or is out for any length of time, Newcastle are really struggling on that front.
