Newcastle United’s Serie A raid continues with the Magpies now looking towards Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior.
The 19-year-old left-winger left Chelsea‘s academy in 2020 and got himself a move to Juventus where he made is breakthrough into the first team last year making 12 Serie A appearances, scoring in his only start for the club.
Iling-Junior was used sparingly in Serie A but Juventus gave him more game time in other competitions taking his total appearances to 29 with six goals and four assists to his name. He even got a taste of Champions League football in a game against Benfica in which he grabbed himself an assist.
Several PL clubs are monitoring Samuel Iling-Junior’s situation
While Juventus don’t want to let him go permanently, it’s believed that they would be open to a loan move for Iling-Junior with several Premier League clubs, including Newcastle, monitoring the situation.
That is according to Rudi Galetti who spoke to Give Me Sport saying: “Juventus, for sure, this summer will change something in this squad.

“Some players could leave on loan to grow and improve. Samuel Iling-Junior is one of them.
“He could leave Juventus on loan this summer, and many clubs have shown interest in him. From the Premier League, Manchester City, Newcastle, and Chelsea are monitoring his situation.”
This comes after Newcastle were linked with Iling-Junior back in March when it seemed as if there would be a bid made this summer to lure him to Newcastle on a permanent deal.
Iling-Junior would be a good signing for Newcastle whether loan or permanent
Iling-Junior is said to be valued at around £26million so a transfer bid may not be off the table for the Magpies but with Juventus seemingly only open to a loan move they could be wasting their time.

Newcastle are looking for someone else to provide an option down the left side of the attack and Iling-Junior certainly ticks a lot of boxes. Despite his young age he has managed to break into that Juventus first team which is an achievement that can’t be overlooked.
Even if it is just a loan, Iling-Junior could be a great addition to Newcastle’s squad for next season.
