Juventus’ current financial issues mean they will have to sell some big players this summer and Newcastle United are still in the queue for striker Dusan Vlahovic.

A report coming out of Italy via Gazzetta.it has gone through possible comings and goings at the Italian giants this summer. The report suggested they could be forced to sell Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic to raise funds for their transfer activities.

Several clubs are interested in the ‘majestic‘ 23-year-old. Newcastle‘s name is mentioned along with Chelsea, PSG, Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

Vlahovic has been touted as one of the best in the world

Vlahovic is considered as one of the ‘best forwards in the world‘ so seeing the list of clubs interested in him isn’t a shock. However, his 14 goals in 42 games last season is a sharp drop from the 29 goals in 45 games that got him recognised in 2021/22.

Despite that, Juventus will still expect to bring in £60million plus for Vlahovic if they opt to sell this summer which could put Newcastle off.

With Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson leading a strong forward line for the Magpies last season, I can’t see Newcastle splashing out £60million on another forward this summer. I expect that Eddie Howe will look to add a youngster with potential to back up the two established strikers, a player who will likely cost a third of what Vlahovic would.

Isak and Vlahovic up front for Newcastle would be terrifying for out opposition

If Newcastle were to go for it though, we’d have two of the best young strikers in Europe in Vlahovic and Isak and that would certainly help us maintain our league position next season while making an impression on the Champions League.

Given that he’s only 23, that £60million could be a bargain, he could be worth twice that in just a couple of years, so whoever does manage to sign him this summer will have a solid investment on their hands.

Realistically, I can’t see Vlahovic coming to Newcastle, but I’d be ecstatic if we manage to pull this off.
