Newcastle have been linked with a swoop for Everton midfielder Tom Davies by the Chronicle.
They report that there’s a chance Davies and Sean Longstaff could switch clubs before the end of the transfer window.
It doesn’t seem like it’s got a huge chance of happening right now, but this isn’t the first time Davies has been linked with Newcastle.

Davies is of interest
These latest rumours have come almost a year to the day since Newcastle were first linked with Davies.
Last August, the Daily Mail claimed that Davies was a top target for Steve Bruce.
He was apparently keen on a £12 million attempt to sign the Everton man, to add more of an English core to his squad.
That deal didn’t happen and a year later, Bruce still feels he’s short in central midfield.

Davies has since admitted that he wanted to leave the club on loan during that window, but was convinced to stay by Carlo Ancelotti.
Ahead of the January transfer window, the Athletic reported that Davies is a player who is admired by Newcastle.
In February, Davies produced a performance in a 3-3 draw at Old Trafford which Ancelotti described as ‘perfect’.
But now former Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez is in charge at Everton. His verdict on Davies’ qualities will determine whether he’s allowed to leave this summer.
And ultimately, whether Newcastle will get a player who’s been on their radar for at least a year.
