Newcastle United are believed to be preparing a summer raid for ‘frustrated’ Arsenal left-back, Kieran Tierney, but he won’t come cheap.

The perfect time for Newcastle to strike
According to The Sun, Newcastle are poised to pounce on Kieran Tierney as he is ‘becoming increasingly frustrated’ by the lack of playing time at Arsenal following the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko in the summer. The report going on to say “He is cutting an increasingly isolated figure in the dressing room and does not want to spend the next years of his career sitting on the subs’ bench.” It seems like the perfect time for Newcastle to test the waters.
The 25-year-old Scottish international has made just four starts for the Gunners this campaign with Mikel Arteta seemingly a bigger fan of Zinchenko in the left-back role, which is understandable given his performances this season.
However, Tierney has had many a great night in an Arsenal shirt since his £25m move from Celtic in 2019 and The Sun believes that Arsenal will be looking to recover their outlay and then some with a £30m price tag being slapped on him.
Eddie Howe has been exploring more left-back options with Dan Burn being forced to play out of position this season to cover for the injured Matt Targett. Jamal Lewis remains on the books at Newcastle, but it really doesn’t seem like he has a future on Tyneside, so bringing in another left-sided defender is definitely a priority for Howe.
The prospect of Ashby and Tierney is an exciting one

Newcastle have already moved to bring in a deputy for Kieran Trippier at right back with Harrison Ashby to be mentored by the England international to be his eventual replacement, so having an exciting young counterpart on the opposite flank would make sense.
I’ve got my fingers crossed that there is truth in this one. The few times I’ve seen Tierney play for Arsenal I have been extremely impressed with him and always wished we had someone like him at Newcastle so I’m glad that it looks like we could potentially move to bring him to St James’ Park.
