Mehrdad Ghodoussi may have left Newcastle United, but he is still showing his support to those associated with the club.
He is no longer a co-owner at Newcastle United, with Mehrdad Ghodoussi and Amanda Staveley selling their shares to PIF and the Reuben brothers.
Their time on Tyneside is over, with Newcastle fans thanking Ghodoussi and Staveley for everything they did.
But they are now part of the Magpies’ history, and the same goes for Matt Ritchie.
Matt Ritchie has a new club after Newcastle release
There have been plenty of major departures at Newcastle United this summer.
As well as Staveley and Ghodoussi leaving, the Toon Army also waved goodbye to Matt Ritchie.
He was released by Newcastle when his contract expires, with the Magpies’ lack of European football meaning there was no chance of an extension.

The 34-year-old now has a new club, and his dream has come true. It was announced on Tuesday evening that Ritchie has returned to Portsmouth, which is where he started his professional career.
There had been rumours that Portsmouth could sign Ritchie, and now they have. It is a great move for him, as Ritchie had previously expressed how much he would like to play for Pompey again before the end of his career.
He has signed a two-year deal with Portsmouth, as manager John Mousinho welcomes Championship football back to Fratton Park.
Mehrdad Ghodoussi’s message to Matt Ritchie after Portsmouth announcement
Following news of his Newcastle release, Ghodoussi delivered a kind message to Ritchie.
Now the corner flag kicker has got a new club, and Ghodoussi has reacted to the news.
Following the announcement, he wrote on X: “Best of luck Matt.”
Paul Dummett is still a free agent
It is great to see Ritchie find a new club after being released by Newcastle United. It is even better that he has signed for Portsmouth, which was his dream.
But while Ritchie has a new home, that is not the case for Paul Dummett.
He was also released by the Magpies this summer, and is still a free agent. Dummett has been linked with Sheffield United, but a deal has not been done as it stands.
Hopefully he is signed up soon, with the new season set to begin. The EFL starts this weekend, while the weekend after is the beginning of the Premier League.
With regards to the other senior players that Newcastle released, Loris Karius and Jeff Hendrick are also still free agents. Karius has been offered to AC Milan, as he eyes a deal with an Italian club.
