Newcastle United’s transfer window could see several outgoings.
It’s gearing up to be a busy window with reports that Toon boss Eddie Howe wants a striker, winger and goalkeeper in the January Transfer window.
However, PSR remains a lingering issue for Newcastle and the consensus is that if they buy anyone there will need to be sales.
There are a number of players going out of contract at the end of the season with all of them except John Ruddy joining the club before Newcastle’s takeover in 2021.
Among those out of contract are Sean Longstaff, Callum Wilson and Fabian Schar who could still be offered a new deal.
Martin Dubravka is also among those whose contract is expiring but a recent report suggests that he could now leave in January despite Howe’s reluctance.

Martin Dubravka unsure on Al-Shabab move
Dubravka was tipped to move to the Saudi Pro League side in December, these links have since reemerged but according to GIVEMESPORT, the 35-year-old is unsure about whether he would be willing to move to the Middle East.
The Slovakian international was linked with a move away in summer with Celtic interested but they decided to go for another option.
Newcastle signed Ruddy and Odysseas Vlachodimos in the summer bringing their total number of goalkeepers in the Toon first-team squad to five. Despite that, Newcastle could still sign a replacement before letting Dubravka go. Burnley keeper James Trafford is a Newcastle target but it could be difficult with Clarets boss Scott Parker reluctant to let Trafford go.
The report suggests that Al-Shabab, who have now completed the appointment of Terim have shifted their focus onto the January transfer window and identified Dubravka as a target.
Howe has previously admitted he wants Dubravka to stay admitting a move in January while he’s starting “wouldn’t make sense”.
Dubravka has performed as well as Nick Pope this season
It’s no surprise Dubravka has interest in January as he has clocked in a number of good performances in the absence of Nick Pope.
Pope is out with a knee ligament problem and Howe hasn’t given him a definitive return date yet. It’s not an immediate problem for Newcastle with their performance at the back being so good lately. Dubravka has now kept three clean sheets in his last four games conceding just one late goal in Newcastle’s win against Brentford.
Dubravka has already equalled Pope’s total clean sheet tally in the Premier League despite playing 12 games fewer than him. Pope’s form has been inconsistent this season, conceding 21 goals in 15 Premier League games but he now has competition for the number one spot when he’s fit enough to return.
Should Dubravka stay at Newcastle until the end of the season it won’t be as easy as once thought for Pope to come back into the first-team.
