The Alexander Isak saga refuses to go away for Newcastle United fans.
While Newcastle remain insistent that Isak isn’t for sale this summer, such a strong stance has done little to stop all the speculation.
Isak was sent home from Newcastle’s game against Celtic on Saturday, as Eddie Howe’s side began pre-season in nightmare fashion.
The Magpies were thrashed 4-0 by the Scottish champions, while their star striker wasn’t even in attendance.
Isak hadn’t been scheduled to play and the club were looking to manage his minutes. Still, Howe also confirmed that at least part of the reason to send him back to Newcastle was due to all the talk regarding his future.
Liverpool want to sign Isak, who has also been linked with a shock move to Saudi Arabia. However, according to Miguel Delaney, another club could come into the race.

PSG interested in Alexander Isak as teammates refuse to react
According to his report in The Independent, Paris Saint-Germain are “maybe one to watch” in the race for Isak and that “many are worried” about his future.
It’s also claimed that while there wasn’t an expectation that Isak would try and force a move away from St James’ Park this summer, that theory is now not being said with quite the same amount of confidence.
There is a growing feeling that Isak’s head has been turned and that some of his teammates simply won’t be drawn on his future.
Alexander Isak set to join Newcastle United’s pre-season tour of Asia
Newcastle are set to continue their pre-season plans this week with a tour of Asia.
Howe’s side are playing Arsenal in Singapore on Sunday before jetting to South Korea for games against Team K-League and Tottenham.
Isak is set to join Newcastle’s pre-season tour of Asia, although clearly a lot can change in a couple of days.
There is nothing to suggest Newcastle will wilt in the face of pressure. The 25-year-old has three years on his contract and there is seemingly no immediate financial pressure to sell.
Few would argue, however, that the situation looks positive.
