Newcastle United are looking to sign a new forward this summer and Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic has been touted as a potential target.
Long before Alexander Isak asked to leave Newcastle United, Eddie Howe was keen to add a new striker to his squad following the departure of Callum Wilson.
Wilson was Isak’s main back-up last season but left upon the expiration of his contract earlier this summer.
Newcastle now need at least one striker regardless of what happens with Isak. Wilson needs replacing, with neither William Osula nor Sean Neave convincing enough to start the season with as the main source of goals.
Vlahovic has been offered to Newcastle by intermediaries and there has now been an update on his future.

Juventus confirm Dusan Vlahovic can leave
Juventus have appointed former Liverpool and Tottenham executive Damien Comolli as their general manager.
Comolli has confirmed the Italian giants are open to selling the Serbian international this summer if they were to receive a big enough offer for him.
Vlahovic cost Juventus £66million from Fiorentina in January 2022 (via Sky Sports) and has since scored 58 goals in 154 games for the club.
“We have agreed with Dusan on his exit this summer if we get a good proposal,” he said.
“Vlahovic can only leave with a good bid and we’ve not received it so far”.
How Dusan Vlahovic compares to Alexander Isak
While clearly a striker with some decent pedigree, it would be hard not to be underwhelmed by the idea of Vlahovic replacing Isak at Newcastle.
His time in Turin hasn’t exactly been a roaring success, although Vlahovic cannot exactly take all of the blame for that.
| 2024/25 statistics | Dusan Vlahovic | Alexander Isak |
| Games | 29 | 34 |
| Minutes played | 1786 | 2774 |
| Goals | 10 | 23 |
| Assists | 4 | 6 |
| Shots/90 | 2.7 | 2.9 |
| Key passes/90 | 0.5 | 1.2 |
As is listed above, the Juve star trails Isak in some key attacking metrics. It would be fair to say that he does not look like an upgrade.
If Vlahovic were to serve as Isak’s replacement, it’d be hard to spin it positively. If the forward had been that much of a Newcastle target, they surely would have moved for him by now.
