Everton manager Rafa Benitez wants to sign Newcastle duo Sean Longstaff and Allan Saint-Maximin.

As per the Independent, the former Magpies boss has two targets at his old club.

They report that Longstaff is the more likely of the pair to move, whether that’s in January or the summer.

That’s probably because Saint-Maximin is arguably Newcastle’s best player.

Longstaff is currently starting for Steve Bruce but will be out of contract at the end of the season.

So perhaps Everton will test the water in January to see if they can get a deal done.

There was talk that Longstaff is in negotiations over a new deal but nothing has been finalised yet.

Losing Saint-Maximin would be a body blow but it would be hard to see how Everton could afford that after all the signs during the summer being that Benitez doesn’t have much money to spend.
