Newcastle United are one step closer to signing a top young talent from Juventus as they look to have a clear out this summer.
The Italian club are still struggling financially and could be looking to cash in on some of their young prospects in the summer with Newcastle tracking one in particular.
A new report from AS Roma Live now claims that Juventus could give the green light to sell defender Dean Huijsen with both Newcastle and Arsenal currently tracking him.
Huijsen’s future at Juventus is still up in the air
After making just one appearance for Juventus this season, Huijsen was sent to Serie A rivals Roma on loan where he has enjoyed more regular football and recently received some big praise from Daniele De Rossi.
The Roma boss, while admitting that there’s a long way to go in his development, claimed that Huijsen has ‘no limits‘ to his game because of his understanding and reading of football at the highest level.
At just 18-years-old he’s still got a lot to learn, of course, but there are very promising signs and Newcastle are looking ready to pounce, especially after learning that Sven Botman could be out until 2025.
Newcastle could replace one Dutch defender with another if Juventus do decide to cash in on the teenager, but Arsenal will be sure to provide some tough competition if they make him a top target this summer.

Newcastle to capitalise on Juventus struggles
It feels like almost every club in football is struggling to cope financially at the moment, although some are far more severe than others, especially considering Juventus’ past.
Newcastle themselves are possible considering selling a key player like Bruno Guimaraes or Alexander Isak just so that they have money to spend in the summer which would be a big blow.
However, it would be smart business from Newcastle to use other clubs struggles against them, and that’s exactly what they could do to Juventus with Huijsen.
The Geordies were also linked with another young player of theirs in Matias Soule who is on loan at Frosinone, so it could be a big raid for some Juventus youngsters this summer if they are desperate for cash.
