How much Liverpool are set to bid for Alexander Isak, it is obvious how Newcastle United will respond

Newcastle United are bracing themselves as Liverpool prepare to step up their Alexander Isak interest.

It is set to be a seismic week with regards to Alexander Isak’s future at Newcastle United.

Geordie Boot Boys understand that Isak wants to leave Newcastle, with Liverpool interested in bringing the striker to Anfield.

That will depend on how much they offer. Newcastle do not want to sell Isak, and are certainly not going to let him go for less than their valuation.

Liverpool’s opening Alexander Isak bid will not be enough for Newcastle United

Newcastle value Isak at £150million, yet Liverpool are not going to get remotely close to that figure with their opening offer.

That is according to Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who claims that the Reds are expected to make an initial offer of £100million for Isak as they attempt to negotiate a deal.

The report adds that Liverpool think they can land the 25-year-old for £120million, which is £30million less than what Newcastle United want.

Regardless, it is obvious that an opening bid of £100million will be rejected by the Magpies. While it might open the lines of communication between the two clubs, it is staggeringly low.

Hugo Ekitike fee proves Liverpool are wasting their time with initial Alexander Isak approach

Liverpool are wasting their time coming in with an offer of £100million. It is not going to be enough, and they know that.

That is summed up by how much the Reds just paid to sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt. Ekitike is a Liverpool player, despite Newcastle United trying to sign him. The 23-year-old has moved to Anfield for an initial £69million, but the deal can rise to £79million with add-ons.

An offer of just £21million more could be submitted for Isak, a player who is at a much higher level than Ekitike. He is more experienced at the age of 25, and Premier League-proven with 54 goals in 86 appearances in the top flight for Newcastle.

While Liverpool’s hope will be that Isak’s desire to move forces Newcastle’s hand, the Toon owners must stand firm and get what they are owed. Selling him for less than he is worth would be the latest blunder in what has been a gruelling summer on Tyneside.
