Newcastle United star Tino Livramento is likely to be in demand over the next few transfer windows, and Manchester United may be keen.
Livramento, aside from perhaps Sandro Tonali, is arguably Newcastle United’s most prized asset following the departure of Alexander Isak to Liverpool.
The England international is already one of the leading full-backs in the Premier League and, at only 23, still has so much scope for development going forward.
Geordie Boot Boys have been told that Newcastle have held talks with Livramento’s agents over a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2028.
Newcastle, of course, will want to secure his long-term future at the club. Three years may sound like a long time remaining on a contract, but it’s worth noting that it’s what Isak had left when he departed.
There’s no suggestion Livramento’s future would play out anything like the Isak saga of course but it does seem that he’s likely to have interest from across Manchester next summer.

Manchester United appreciate Tino Livramento but Manchester City are adamant about signing him
According to journalist Ben Jacobs on The United Stand Podcast, the Old Trafford giants do rate Livramento highly, which is hardly much of a surprise.
Jason Wilcox, who is the Director of Football with the Red Devils, briefly worked with Livramento at Southampton and is said to be a “factor” in their interest.
Jacobs, however, did add that Manchester City are still interested in the defender and some of their sources are adamant they will try to land him in 2026.
“The beauty of Tino Livramento is he can play on both sides,” he said.
“So, I can understand why Manchester United would like the player. And let’s not forget that Jason Wilcox knows him incredibly well. So, he’s a factor in all of this as well.
“Man City seem to be the club, speaking to sources, that are most adamant on trying to get Tino Livramento in 2026. But, of course, if they make progress and the feeling becomes that Newcastle might sell, then other clubs will come forward.
“It is absolutely true that Manchester United have people that appreciate Tino Livramento but it’s simply not gone further than that and Ross Wilson, who’s the new sporting director at Newcastle, has just come in and one of his first tasks along with a few others at the club is to get Livramento to sign a new deal.”
Strap in Newcastle United fans, it’s going to happen again
The summer of 2024 was dominated by Isak rumours, even before he had set fire to his legacy at the club.
There were constant stories and links about the Sweden forward and while he eventually made things an awful lot worse, they initially looked like an attempt to unsettle more than anything else.
That’s not to say the insight above is to unsettle, of course. Man City have wanted to sign Livramento for a while, so that’s hardly anything new created to set the cat among the pigeons.
Also, Livramento is a brilliant player, so it’s not particularly surprising that Man United would be interested.
Still, it’s probably time for Newcastle fans to strap in. With the team struggling this season, it’s difficult to imagine a world in which Livramento and Tonali aren’t constantly linked away just like Isak was.
