How Alexander Isak feels about Saudi move as PIF offer Newcastle United the perfect solution

Alexander Isak may want to leave Newcastle United, but his next destination is far from clear.

Toon fans were rocked on Thursday when it emerged that Isak wants to leave Newcastle. The 25-year-old did not travel to Asia for the pre-season training camp due to a thigh injury, but his true intentions became clear just hours later.

While Newcastle United will still insist that he is not for sale, the prospect of Isak leaving is more likely than ever. But where will he go?

Geordie Boot Boys understand that Liverpool and Al-Hilal want Isak.

They are two very different options, with Isak potentially getting the opportunity to join the Premier League champions or earn life-changing money in the Saudi Pro League.

Saudi Arabia move does not appeal to Alexander Isak

A move to Saudi Arabia would be staggering, as it would see Isak swap one PIF club for another.

However, that possibility does not appear to be high on the Sweden international’s agenda.

According to the i Paper, Isak is eager to remain in a top league despite interest from the Saudi Pro League.

In contrast, the i Paper add that Isak’s representatives know that their client can earn life-altering money if he moves to Saudi Arabia.

That appears to be what they are after, as Geordie Boot Boys understand that Isak wanted £300,000-a-week at Newcastle. That figure stunned Toon officials, who had been hoping to agree a deal worth around £200,000-a-week.

It is a difficult balancing act. Given his ability and the economic climate of football, Isak certainly should be earning more money than what he is on at St James’ Park. Alternatively, it will say a lot about his intentions if he does move to Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia move would be the perfect Alexander Isak solution for Newcastle United

In the eyes of Newcastle United, the best outcome is Isak changes his mind and commits his future to the Magpies. That feels extremely unlikely.

The next best solution is a move to Saudi Arabia, as it at least means that a direct rival is not going to be strengthened. That would be the case if he went to Liverpool, who have improved seismically since winning the Premier League title.

Signing Isak would make the Reds seemingly untouchable, at a time when the Newcastle United owners want to progress towards becoming Premier League title contenders.

It was recently reported that Newcastle want Isak to go abroad if they do sell him. However, top options in Europe are few and far between. While plenty of clubs would love to have Isak, they either cannot afford him or do not need him.

That is why it is difficult to pinpoint where Isak goes next. Liverpool remain his best option, but that will depend on how much money Arne Slot’s side are prepared to pay.
