Garang Kuol has sent his goodbye message to Newcastle United after completing a permanent move to Sparta Prague.

There were murmurs around whether the 20-year-old would stay on Tyneside for another season, but it has now been confirmed that Garang Kuol has left Newcastle United to join Czech First League side Sparta Prague.

Kuol joined Newcastle in 2023 for just £300,000, but there was a lot of hype around him. The young attacker had just completed a World Cup campaign where he played against the likes of Argentina and Saudi Arabia in Qatar.

Unfortunately, the Australian was let down by a series of poor loan decisions internally. He made just eight appearances at Hearts in 2023 and suffered relegation with Eredivisie side FC Volendam in 2024. Kuol found success for Newcastle’s academy in the 2024/25 campaign, but with a year left on his deal, he felt a move away would be best for him.

Now, Kuol has sent a message to the Newcastle fans and his former teammates after his exit was confirmed.

Garang Kuol’s message after Newcastle United exit

Kuol is reuniting with Diarmiud O’Carroll at Sparta Prague. The former Newcastle U21s head coach left the Magpies in June after taking up a coaching role with the Czech Republic side.

The move allows Kuol to make a name for himself at a top club in a competitive league. Perhaps a move to another top club in Europe can come to fruition in the future if all goes well.

With his move confirmed, Kuol has now sent a short but sweet message to Newcastle.

“Thank you to my teammates and everyone who helped me during my time at @nufc,” he said on his Instagram story.

“I wish you all the best for the future.”

Kuol never made a competitive appearance for Newcastle’s first team, leaving fans to wonder what could have been on Tyneside, especially if he finds his form elsewhere.

How much Sparta Prague are paying Newcastle United for Garang Kuol

By no means was Kuol’s move to Prague going to be a huge PSR boost, but there will be a minor benefit which Eddie Howe will surely welcome.

It has been confirmed that Kuol has joined Prague for a fee of £500,000, giving Newcastle a profit of £200,000.

Kuol’s contract was set to expire in 2026, so this season would have been make-or-break for the young attacker.

However, it made sense for him to make a move away from Tyneside for the good of his career. There was very little chance of him breaking Newcastle’s starting XI this season, even with everything that is happening with Alexander Isak.
