Rayo Vallecano president Raul Martin Presa has confirmed that Fran Garcia will join Real Madrid in the summer, despite interest from Newcastle United.
That’s what the official told El Partidazo de COPE.
Having come through the Los Blancos academy, the Spanish giants are set to trigger a £9m buy-back clause in the 23-year-old’s contract.
“Fran Garcia will go to Real Madrid at the end of this season,” Presa claims. “We have reached an agreement.

“For them, it would have been the best thing on a sporting level (to bring Garcia back now). Real Madrid is a club that acts sportingly, and we have to thank them (for letting us keep him for another few months).”
This comes amid an injury to first choice left-back Ferland Mendy.
As per the Daily Mail, the Magpies were keen to land the defender at St James’ Park, but Carlo Ancelotti’s side were always the frontrunners due to their buy-back clause.
Newcastle miss out on Garcia
Currently, the Toon use Dan Burn at left-back, who is naturally a centre-back.
Eddie Howe also has Matt Targett and Jamal Lewis in the position, but neither player seem to have the manager fully convinced.
As a result, it is understandable why the Tyneside club were looking at the 23-year-old, as a player for the future.
The youngster has made 21 appearances for Vallecano this season, helping the side up to seventh in the La Liga table.

Newcastle have recently welcomed young full-back Harrison Ashby to St James’ Park.
The 21-year-old arrives as an understudy to Kieran Trippier, with Howe planning to use the former West Ham man in the future.
This appeared to be the same approach for Garcia, but he is now set for a return to the Spanish capital.
