Newcastle United have been linked with a summer move for Conor Gallagher, and there could soon be an opportunity to do a deal.
That is because Chelsea are now reportedly looking to get rid of Gallagher ahead of the new season, and are offering him to other clubs.
That is according to the Evening Standard, who add that the 23-year-old has now accepted that he needs to move elsewhere if he is going to play regular football.
That may or may not open the door for Newcastle, with Eddie Howe previously eyeing the England international on loan.
The Magpies have since signed Sandro Tonali, although it had been suggested that the Magpies would look to sign two centre midfielders ahead of the new season.

Regardless, it looks like a move away from Stamford Bridge is on the horizon for Gallagher, who is attracting interest from London clubs West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur.
The chance to stay in the capital is probably appealing for the ‘fantastic‘ player, but he was actually open to a move up north earlier this year.
Conor Gallagher wanted to sign for Newcastle
According to the Evening Standard, Gallagher was open to signing for Newcastle back in January after the Magpies made a loan bid for him.
However, he was not allowed to make the switch as Chelsea did not want to strengthen a direct rival.

In the end it did not matter. Newcastle qualified for the Champions League without Gallagher while Chelsea did not even finish in the top half.
That is why there is now a major rebuild going on at Stamford Bridge, and it could soon result in Gallagher departing.
Newcastle’s current priority is defensive reinforcements, so a move for Gallagher feels unlikely at this stage. That could be good news for West Ham, who need midfield additions after selling Declan Rice to Arsenal for a British transfer record fee of £105million.
