Fabrizio Romano has denied claims that Randal Kolo Muani has rejected Newcastle United while suggesting that the club are not even in talks with him.
Kolo Muani has been linked with a move to Newcastle United as they look to sign at least one forward this summer.
Eddie Howe was keen to add a striker to the Newcastle United squad even before Alexander Isak asked to leave the club, with Callum Wilson having departed upon the expiration of his contract.
Now, it seems the club are actively chasing two signings, although there is no absolute guarantee that Isak will leave despite his wishes to go.
France international Kolo Muani spent half of last season on loan at Juventus but has now returned to parent club Paris Saint-Germain.
This has been a dreadful summer for Newcastle, who cannot seem to land many new players. Romano, however, took a rival fan to task on social media platform X.

Fabrizio Romano reveals Randal Kolo Muani update
The noted transfer insider may have invoked the ire of some Toon fans on social media with seemingly constant updates on Isak’s potential move to Liverpool.
Still, he told a rival fan who was joking that Kolo Muani was set to reject Newcastle that the Magpies weren’t even in the race to sign him at this stage.
Instead, it is only Juve who are in talks with the 26-year-old.
Newcastle United finally closing in on a striker
While it seemingly won’t be Kolo Muani, a new forward could be set to sign for Newcastle at long last.
Indeed, Newcastle are making progress on a deal to sign Brentford’s Yoane Wissa, who is set to come to St James’ Park as Wilson’s replacement.
That feels like progress. Wissa scored 19 Premier League goals last season and looks like an upgrade on the version of Wilson that Toon fans saw last time out.
Though Wissa certainly isn’t the long-term heir to Isak, there’s little doubt that he looks a fine addition for the club this summer.
