Newcastle United have been linked with a loan move for Malang Sarr, but Chelsea may have other plans for the defender.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have been heavily linked with Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde, whose release clause has reportedly gone up from £68million to £77million.

According to 90min, Chelsea still want to do a deal before the transfer window closes next week.

The report states that the Blues did offer Kurt Zouma to Sevilla, but the Frenchman turned down the move.

And 90min claim another player has also been discussed – Newcastle United target Malang Sarr.

Will blockbuster transfer stop Newcastle signing Malang Sarr?

The Express claimed recently that the Magpies were considering a loan move for one of two Chelsea youngsters – Sarr or Ethan Ampadu. According to the Northern Echo, Newcastle have enquired about the latter.

However, it is the former who fans want to see arrive at St James’ Park.

Sarr is a promising youngster. Interestingly, Newcastle reportedly looked at him last year before he moved to Chelsea.

According to 90min, while Chelsea did discuss Sarr going to Sevilla, the 22-year-old does have options elsewhere, including in the Premier League.

Newcastle still desperately need a centre-back before the transfer window closes. Sarr is one of few defenders who we’ve been linked with that hasn’t gone elsewhere yet.

The clock is ticking for Mike Ashley and Lee Charnley, who desperately need to give Steve Bruce some help before the window slams shut on August 31st.

Sarr would be a welcome arrival on loan. If a deal is possible, Newcastle will be praying he isn’t used as bait in the Jules Kounde transfer.
