Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho will ‘certainly’ be on Newcastle United’s radar.
That is the view of the Daily Mail reporter Craig Hope, who has been asked about Newcastle possibly making a move for the attacker amid uncertainty over his Man United career.
Sancho was not even on the bench for the Red Devils’ previous Premier League game, with Erik ten Hag stating that the England international had not performed well enough in training.
His comments provoked a response from Sancho, who took to social media to claim he was being made a scapegoat.
There have since been plenty of stories about the 23-year-old’s attitude behind the scenes, with negative reports hinting that he is now on borrowed time at Old Trafford.

But could the £73million man be a target for Newcastle in the future? Hope believes that is certainly a possibility.
Craig Hope thinks Jadon Sancho will be on Newcastle’s radar
Hope conducted a Q&A on the Daily Mail’s website on Wednesday afternoon, and was asked by a Newcastle supporter if he thinks Sancho is the type of player who could succeed at St James’ Park.
Hope answered: “I had this conversation with a colleague just this week…Hmm. Newcastle’s model is signing players on the way up. Players they can identify as value and then develop. Sancho, with wages likely to break Newcastle’s structure, would seem unlikely in that regard. But would the player benefit from a coach such as Howe? Absolutely. Is it a project Newcastle will be considering? He will certainly be on their radar. Let’s see.”
Wages would be the issue for Newcastle
With Newcastle looking for a winger and Sancho just 23-years-old, it is obvious why the Magpies would consider making a move.

He is an immensely talented footballer, as seen by his Borussia Dortmund career and early appearances in an England shirt. However, his move to Manchester United has been massively underwhelming and it now looks like his career is at a crossroads.
Could that crossroads lead him to St James’ Park? His £250,000-a-week wages would suggest otherwise. That is more than any player earns at Newcastle right now, and the club have been careful to protect their wage structure.
But Sancho is clearly a player who would benefit from Howe’s management, and Hope believes that Newcastle will have their eye on him and his situation at Manchester United as friction grows behind the scenes at Old Trafford.
