Borussia Dortmund are currently negotiating a new deal with Newcastle United transfer target Youssoufa Moukoko, according to journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft.
Speaking in a transfer update on his YouTube channel, the reporter claimed BVB are doing all they can to keep hold of the 18-year-old star.
However, whilst the Black and Yellow are the favourites, Newcastle remain in the race to secure the player’s signature.
“His contract is up this summer, so people are now speculating about big clubs in England; Newcastle, Chelsea; also, Spain,” Fjortoft said.

“But, most likely at the moment, he will extend his contract in Dortmund.
“They are negotiating as we speak in Marbella.
“They’re doing all they can to extend the contract for Moukoko in Dortmund because he’s still 18 years of age and they feel the best argument for him is to develop in Dortmund.”
Dortmund in talks with Newcastle target Moukoko
This update doesn’t seem to bode well for Newcastle.
As per the Evening Standard, the Magpies have made a ‘substantial verbal approach’ to the attacker. It is believed the proposed move would include a huge £150,000-a-week contract.
However, if Dortmund can make an offer deemed acceptable by Moukoko, then it’s likely the Toon are on the back-foot in negotiations.

Having been hailed as a ‘crazy’ talent by teammate Emre Can, the teenager would be an incredible coup for Eddie Howe’s side.
However, with Dortmund desperate to keep hold of their 18-year-old prodigy, the task was always going to be extremely hard.
Hopefully Dan Ashworth has another bargaining chip up his sleeve, so the club can get a deal for Moukoko across the line.
