Newcastle United transfer target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is a huge fan of Real Madrid.
That is according to his agent, who has admitted that Kvaratskhelia ‘loves’ Real Madrid ahead of potentially joining them this summer.
The Napoli winger is set to be a man in demand, and has Europe’s biggest clubs lining up to secure his signature.
From the Premier League, the likes of Manchester City and Newcastle are keen. It has been reported that Eddie Howe thinks he would be a great fit at St James’ Park.
Elsewhere, there is reportedly interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Real Madrid. And emotional ties from the player, his family and agent could potentially send him to Spain.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia ‘loves Real Madrid’ – and they want to sign him
The 22-year-old’s agent has spoke to Geo Team, and admitted that his client is a big fan of Los Blancos.
“His father and I are Barca fans, but Kvara loves Real Madrid,” he said.
“If I see him in a Barca shirt I’ll be happy, but he’s Madridista. Napoli director asks me not to be in a hurry — Kvara likes everything in Napoli.”
So Kvaratskhelia likes Real Madrid, and they like him. And given their power in the transfer market, it is difficult to see how anyone can stop them from signing the superstar forward.
Barcelona might feel like they have a chance too given what his agent has said. Either way, there is no mention of Newcastle United.
Could be bad news for Newcastle
With Kvaratskhelia’s agent admitting that his client ‘loves’ one of the teams that wants to sign him, it is extremely difficult to see him going anywhere but there.
That would be a shame for Newcastle, as he could be a transformative signing at St James’ Park. He could have a seismic impact on the left of attack, and would be absolutely adored by the Toon Army.
However, he might just be beyond us right now. While we have aspirations of becoming a force in the world game, the clubs already at the head of the table are circling around Kvaratskhelia. Real Madrid are one of them, and he is seemingly a fan.
Jamie Carragher recently admitted that he could see Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in a Real Madrid shirt, and that now feels like even more of a possibility.
