Sandro Tonali’s seemingly imminent move to Newcastle United has dominated headlines of late.
The Italian midfielder is widely expected to move to the club this summer as Newcastle make another big statement of intent.
Journalists based in Milan have lamented Tonali’s exit, such is his standing amongst the supporters.

While a deal not has not yet been announced, the idea of such a big-name player leaving a traditional powerhouse to join Newcastle this early into the PIF project is a major statement.
Clearly a hugely popular figure at AC Milan, Tonali’s agent has already spoken about what a great deal it is for the club.
According to a recent report, it could be even better for them long-term.
AC Milan include a clause in Sandro Tonali’s Newcastle career
Indeed, according to Milan News, the club have looked to include a clause in Tonali’s contract at St James’ Park.
The report says the Serie A giants have a sell-on clause in the deal, guaranteeing them a percentage of any money Newcastle get when selling Tonali in the years to come.
The exact figure isn’t stated but the report also claims the move, the most expensive sale in their history, is expected to be confirmed in a matter of days.

Newcastle just aren’t a selling club anymore
Frankly, that is just good business sense for Milan. At 23, Tonali has so much of his career ahead of him.
Still, from a Newcastle perspective, it’s hard to imagine a situation in which the midfielder would be sold in the next few years.
Barring a complete disaster in terms of performance, PIF have the funds and ambition to ensure the club keep a hold of their players long-term.
Clearly, there’s no guarantee Tonali will perform for Newcastle. The success of the recruitment staff in the post-takeover era, however, would suggest there’s a good chance that will he can hit the ground running.
