Newcastle United did not win the 2023 Carabao Cup final, but co-owner Amanda Staveley believes they will the competition in the future.
Staveley spoke to TalkSPORT after losing to Manchester United in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final, and has vowed that Newcastle are going to win silverware soon.
It was disappointing to fall short against Man United, but the club did us proud. Getting to the final was incredible, and the scenes in London were sensational.
The final was Newcastle’s first since 1999, and Toon fans made the most of their trip to Wembley. However, it did not end with a trophy.
However, Staveley thinks the Magpies will be future Carabao Cup winners – and has also predicted success in various other major competitions.

Amanda Staveley thinks Newcastle are going to win it all
The Toon co-owner spoke to TalkSPORT after the game at Wembley, and made a remarkable vow for the future.
“We will win the Carabao Cup, we will win the FA Cup, we will win the Champions League and we will win the Premier League,” she said.
That is an incredible statement from Staveley. We have only just reached our first final under this ownership, yet Staveley believes Newcastle are going to go on and win all there is to win.
She is predicting that the club are going right to the top under their guidance, which would be absolutely remarkable.
As it stands, we are not a Champions League club, nor are we contenders for the Champions League. But Staveley says we will be in the future.
Carabao Cup final defeat just the start for Newcastle under this ownership
The overriding feeling from fans, players, staff and owners is that this is only the beginning. We may have lost against Man United, but just getting there was a real achievement, and it is the first major step on the incredible journey that these owners are taking us on.
Right now, the last time Newcastle won a trophy was 1969. The last time we won a domestic trophy was 1955. Yet Staveley thinks we are going to win the lot in the future.
It is an incredible vow by the co-owner, and it would be beyond our wildest dreams if she ends up being right.
