Harvey Barnes is due on Tyneside today visit Newcastle United’s training ground in order to complete his move from Leicester City.
According to Craig Hope, Harvey Barnes is Benton-bound as he looks to finalise his move from Leicester to Newcastle with the journalist tweeting: “Harvey Barnes is expected at Newcastle’s training ground this afternoon before completing his move from Leicester”
This comes amid reports that Barnes and his representatives were already in the North East last night, but now it’s expected that the 25-year-old will be at the training ground later today to go through the formalities.
Newcastle want the deal done so Barnes can fly out to the USA
Newcastle will want to get the deal wrapped up as quickly as possible so that Barnes can fly out to Atlanta to meet up with his new team mates as they gear up to get their PL Summer Series underway on Sunday against Aston Villa.
Barnes will become Newcastle’s third signing of the summer transfer window following youngster Yankuba Minteh and Sandro Tonali through the door. Minteh has since joined Feyenoord on loan where he got off to a lively, goal-scoring start to life with the Dutch side.

Newcastle are getting themselves a truly brilliant player in Barnes. Despite playing for a relegated side last season Barnes was still able to out-score all of our wingers, including Miguel Almiron who had his best season in England last campaign.
Barnes is exactly the kind of player the Magpies need
His goal contributions for Leicester have been consistently high over the last few seasons, up there alongside England‘s Bukayo Saka and Marcus Rashford. Them two playing for Arsenal and Manchester United respectively is probably what keeps them in the England side ahead of Barnes.

He’s not so much a flair player but he gets the job done and he does it well and I am baffled by the sections of the fanbase who can’t seem to see what a brilliant signing this is.
Barnes is the perfect signing for Newcastle as our wide players, while they do offer a good outlet, have been far from consistent in terms of goals and assists, now Barnes can help to rectify that situation.
