There are three big deals which are rumoured to be in the works in regards to outgoings at Newcastle United which could mean they are in for a very busy final 10 days of the January window.

Clubs are believed to have made offers for Kieran Trippier, Callum Wilson and Miguel Almiron in the last week while Javier Manquillo made a permanent move to Celta Vigo yesterday.

Eddie Howe would not want to be left short in a season where he has already struggled massively with a lack of player because of injuries, so Newcastle surely must be planning on something big towards the end of the window.

Newcastle still have time for a big January move

Just like last season with Anthony Gordon, Newcastle could yet make a big a move for a big player with 10 days remaining in the transfer window depending on what business they do going the other way.

Newcastle are monitoring a number of targets who they look like they will go for in the summer, but if those at the top of the club feel there’s room to bring in a key addition now then they could go for it.

Of course, the club don’t want to lose out on their valuation of three players who have proved to be huge for the Magpies over the last two years, so we’ll have to wait and see if the right offers come in.

There’s a sense of sentimentality surrounding the potential departures of these three players and even Jamaal Lascelles who has been linked with a move away, but it is a business at the end of the day and selling will only speed up the process of getting to the top.

The Magpies are planning for a big summer

Should moves break down fir these players, that’s not to say that a move away will be ruled out completely as they may look to find interested clubs in the summer.

With Tino Livramento waiting in the wings, for example, it makes sense to ship Trippier out while you can still get a good fee for the aging defender who has been off of his game for the last month.

While there is already money expected to be coming in from the Champions League and commercial deals with Adidas and others there’s always room for more, so selling players will only give Newcastle a bigger budget to reinvest.

Like we saw with the sale of Allan Saint-Maximin, a deal of around £25m can do so much more in terms of incomings, so this will be a huge summer for the future of the club.
