Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Youri Tielemans before the transfer window closes, and it looks like they might not have any competition.
It’s been claimed by the Daily Mail that the Magpies are exploring a late deal for the Leicester midfielder, who could be available for as little as £25million.
That kind of money would make him an absolute bargain given his ability, and he’s the kind of player Newcastle are after.

Eddie Howe is keen to bring in another central midfielder, with Jonjo Shelvey currently out injured. Bruno Guimaraes is also out at the moment, highlighting the need for more depth.
Talk of interest in Tielemans is incredibly exciting, especially at £25million. However, you would expect that price to interest other clubs such as Arsenal. The Gunners have been linked with the 25-year-old all summer, and are still looking to sign a midfielder.
However, it looks like Newcastle could try and sign Tielemans without being challenged by Mikel Arteta’s side.
Arsenal looking elsewhere
According to a different report by the Daily Mail, Arsenal are trying to sign Brazilian midfielder Danilo before tomorrow’s 11pm deadline. He is a 21-year-old who currently plays for Palmeiras in Brazil.

If Arsenal are prioritising a deal for Danilo then Newcastle might have a clear run at Tielemans.
Liverpool have also been tentatively linked with a move for the Belgium international, but it seems more likely that the Reds will opt against signing a new midfielder.
That limits Tielemans’ options, who reportedly wants to leave Leicester this summer.
Newcastle have to pursue deadline day deal for Tielemans
With limited competition and a reasonable asking price, Newcastle simply must make a move for Tielemans.
The Magpies have already stretched the budget this summer by spending £59million on Alexander Isak, but Tielemans would be another worthwhile investment.

£25million is an absolute steal for a player of his quality. Signing him means Howe would have secured Newcastle’s long term midfield. Bruno Guimaraes is 24, Joelinton is 26 and Joe Willock is 23. Add a 25-year-old Tielemans to that and the Magpies have one of the best midfields around.
According to 90min, Newcastle will look to do a permanent deal if an opportunity arises that is too good to turn down.
This is that opportunity. Newcastle can’t pass up this chance and have to do their best to bring Tielemans to St James’ Park.
